Bill Hader stars in HBO's series "Barry".

I decided to change up the review formula a bit and give ya'll the scoop on some awesome new TV shows that I have recently seen!

Today's review is on the first season of "Barry", a 2018 original series from HBO, starring Bill Hader ("It Chapter 2", "Saturday Night Live") and Henry Winkler ("Happy Days"). Barry is currently filming its third season right now.

Barry Berkman (Hader) is a depressed hitman from the Midwest who is longing for something more. But after one of his jobs in Los Angeles, he discovers that he may be destined for something greater: professional acting. Barry begins a double life as a paid assassin and an amateur acting student, under the supervision of eccentric acting coach Gene Cousineau (Winkler). However, the wannabe actor learns the hard way that giving up a life of crime comes with a cost, putting him and his new friends in danger as he seeks to accomplish his dreams and wipe his slate clean.

Bill Hader and Sarah Goldberg in HBO's "Barry".

This show is absolutely phenomenal. It's a satisfying blend of comedy and drama, with loads of humor, thrills, and emotional depth as well. Hader gives a brilliant performance as the titular character, and the ensemble cast is terrific, featuring the fantastic Henry Winkler, as well as some amazing support from Sarah Goldberg and Anthony Carrigan, among others. The show, created by Hader and Alec Berg (executive producer of "Silicon Valley", "Seinfeld", etc.) also boasts excellent writing, direction and cinematography, and it has already won 3 Emmys with countless nominations and positive acclaim from viewers and critics. This is one of my favorite shows of all time, and I can't wait to dig into Season 2! Check this awesome series out!
