Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise in "It"(2017).

There have been many horror stories that have been told in Hollywood, but there hasn't been one quite like "It", until Stephen King's haunting novel received its big screen adaptation in the summer of 2017.

This film tells the story of a group of misfit kids who fight against a shape-shifting demonic entity who terrrorizes them by taking the forms of each of their greatest fears.

Bill Skarsgard gives a fantastic and memorable performance as the evil antagonist, truly embodying the character of the terrifying killer clown Pennywise. The young ensemble cast is also phenomenal (including Finn Wolfhard from "Stranger Things" and Jack Dylan Grazer, the young star from this year's superhero blockbuster "Shazam!"). Along with its effectively disturbing scares and its dark, atmospheric tone, the movie also boasts some unexpected humor, poignance and relevancy in its story. As these kids (who call themselves "The Losers Club") face off against Pennywise, they grow a strong bond of friendship with one another and gain a remarkable sense of courage. Harkening to films such as "The Goonies" and "Stand By Me", the film captures the freedom and innocence of childhood, but it more importantly captures what it is truly like to grow up. Growing up comes with its many unexpected challenges and we all must take courage and responsibility and face our fears head on as we live and learn every day.

On September 5th, the eagerly anticipated sequel, "It Chapter 2" will be released in theatres nationwide. In this follow-up, we travel 30 years ahead and follow the now-adult Losers Club, who have all gone their separate ways, but who reunite to defeat Pennywise, who has returned to their hometown to spread more terror and carnage. Featuring an all-star cast, including Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy and Bill Hader, with Skarsgard returning as Pennywise, "Chapter 2" is certainly expected to deliver bigger scares and an even more intriguing and personal story that will surely satify moviegoers. I cannot wait!
