Spoiler alert: the zombie apocalypse has come, and it has wiped out nearly all of mankind. Fortunately, for the scrawny but smart college student Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), he hasn't been turned into human lunch meat yet, and he has managed to fend off the undead horde with the help of his 30 strict "rules" in surviving everyday life.
On a journey to find his family, Columbus reluctantly teams up with Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson), a reckless redneck who is desperately searching the wastelands for the last Twinkie on Earth, and two runaway sisters, Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin), who seek refuge in a supposedly zombie-free amusement park in Los Angeles. As they journey across the United States, these survivors unexpectedly begin to bond, and Columbus begins to understand that the world isn't such a bad place after all, and that some of his rules are meant to be broken.

"Zombieland" is a delight, and is sure to please fans of the horror and comedy genres. One of the main highlights of the film is the brilliant ensemble cast. Harrelson, Eisenberg, Stone, and Breslin have awesome chemistry and their characters are so distinctly memorable and fun to see play off each other. The script (from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers behind "Deadpool") is hilarious, and it is solidly directed by Ruben Fleischer (who later directed "Venom"). Expect plenty of laughs, gore, and scares, as well as some unexpected heart. "Zombieland" is one heck of a thrill ride, and a must-see for every Halloween movie marathon. I can't wait for the sequel, "Zombieland 2: Double Tap", to hit theatres on October 18!
