Film Review: "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker"

Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley in 2019's "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker".

It's all led up to this. Director J.J. Abrams brings the Skywalker saga to a close in 2019's "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker".

In this final installment, Rey (Daisy Ridley) sets out to fulfill her destiny as a Jedi by uncovering the truth of her parentage and defeating the First Order and its leader, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) once and for all, all while an unexpected and even more powerful threat resurfaces that threatens the Resistance heroes and the entire galaxy.

I won't spoil a thing here, but all I can say is that I thought that "The Rise of Skywalker" was an entertaining, overall satisfying conclusion to the saga. While it certainly has its flaws, such as its rushed pace and occasional lack of character development, Abrams manages to deliver the goods, with plenty of exciting thrills, incredible visuals, shocking surprises, and heartfelt moments.

Now that this saga of the Star Wars universe is complete, I am very much looking forward to seeing what new and exciting things that the future of this awesome franchise has in store for us! :)

Go check out "The Rise of Skywalker", still in theatres today!
