Every now and then, it's fun to just kick back, relax and enjoy a good old trip back to 80s cinema. I've been wanting to check this movie out for a while, as the release of "Bill and Ted Face the Music" sparked my curiosity in this cult classic franchise. Yesterday I sat down and finally experienced this most excellent adventure!
Bill S. Preston, Esq. (Alex Winter) and "Ted" Theodore Logan are two narrow-minded, music-obsessed, fun-loving buddies who are trying to kick start their band, the Wyld Stallions. Seeking glory and a chance at musical fame, they often live in their own world and forget that they have other responsibilities in life; the most daunting of all, their high school history class, where they fail to retain any knowledge. When the principal threatens to fail them from school and Ted's dad plans on sending him to military school, the Wyld Stallions face a huge and seemingly impossible challenge to overcome. That is, until a mysterious man known as Rufus emerges from a tollbooth time machine, who claims that they must find a way to pass their history test, to save the future of humanity and music. Bill and Ted decide to take advantage of the time machine and journey through the ages past, where they meet famous historical figures and attempt to bring them back to their reality and time, to present them for their history final in order to save the world as they know it.
"Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" knows exactly what film it is. It's self-aware, and cheesy, but it's also very charming, hilarious, and just plain fun to watch. Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves have great chemistry together and we as the audience just can't help but root for the Wyld Stallions, not matter what bumbling escapades they find themselves in. There are many wonderfully funny and memorable moments and quotes in the film, and it's honestly one of my favorite classic films that I will certainly revisit again in the future.
Don't miss out on the totally bogus, most triumphant movie "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure", available to rent and own on DVD/Bluray and digital platforms!
P.S. Always remember:
